The Precinct is one of the models that Bluehouse manufacturers in-house in Salt Lake City. (The others are China-made.) It's Bluehouse's version of the everyday, all-mountain ski for hard chargers (who live where the snow is generally soft). It's a poplar-core, metal-free, laminate construction with glass reinforcement. Like all U.S.-manufactured Bluehouse skis, it has thicker, denser sidewalls for enhanced edge solidity and overall durability. It is rockered tip and tail, with low camber underfoot, so it skims soft snow. But with its sidecut extended all the way for and aft, it likes to rail turns on groomers too. Its heft and power are designed to give it good crud performance as well. Bluehouse, established in 2007, is located in Salt Lake City, where it builds some of its skis and all of its prototypes in a downtown factory/warehouse. Sales are online-only (bluehouseskis.com). It collaborates with local artists on topsheet graphics.
