The non-TBT version of the Sling Shot features Jib Rocker (moderate, symmetrical rocker tip and tail). As with the Puzzle, its waist width varies from length to length (from 83 mm to 87 mm) in order to keep the sidecut radius and overall performance consistent from length to length. It's a near-symmetrical twin-tip (just 3 mm wider in tip than tail), for optimized backwards skiing. Like the TBT version, it's built using Elan's Monoblock cap construction, which is less edgy than sidewall constructions. The men's Freestyle collection comprises seven models of mostly park-oriented twin-tips. All are built on full wood cores for responsiveness and durability (except the value-priced Pinball, which has wood stringers surrounded by lightweight foam). The Boomerang offers a powder-ready waist width for backside jibbing; the others range from 80 to 85 mm in width and are more traditionally park-oriented. All models have either symmetrical or near-symmetrical sidecuts for optimized switch-riding performance. Three key models (Boomerang, Puzzle and Slingshot TBT) feature Elan's unique Triple Base Technology, in which the outside edges are raised off the snow at the tip and tail, while the center portion of the base stays flat. This is designed to make them easier to pivot without risk of catching an edge.
