Fifty-six year-old brand Hart, despite having been out of production for a while and having gotten off to a sputtering restart, seems now to be rolling smoothly into the future. The big-mountain models we tested (Outback, Griffin, and Wizard) all impressed testers with their edge grip, flotation and handling abilities. The Hart Wizard is, at 115mm in the waist, the mid-width ski of HartÕs three-ski big-mountain series. It has a rockered tip and, judging by its waist width, is clearly designed as a powder ski, but one thing our testers remember is its tenacious edge grip. On a day with 6 inches of dry powder over a bedrock-solid baseÑit seemed to brush the powder aside and remain unflappably attached to the firm snow.
