Kastle MX 88 (2011)

This capable all-mountain ski comes alive at speed in big, sweeping turns. It’s a traditional cambered design with the turn radius of a GS race ski. Initiation is quick but gentle—which may be a product of a less aggressive tune on our test model than in previous years. It groans when coaxed into short turns, so throttle up and let it run. Stability is the defining characteristic—the ski is rock-solid whether it’s carving corduroy or parting the waves in a sea of junk.
