Salomon Enduro (2011)

This all-mountain ski seems purpose-built for tree lines because its soft, rockered tip has just enough give in it to slide between whoop-de-doos without hooking up. That quality also helps during bump skiing. Though it’s comparable in width and shape to many all-mountain carving specialists—and it has good, but not stellar, groomer performance (perhaps a function of the test model’s tune)—it’s most at home off the corduroy, where the ability to disengage and smear is paramount. Comfortable and forgiving enough for aspiring experts.
