When training for an endurance event, your body craves calories. Without a steady stream of energy, you get crabby, crash, and generally have a crappy time. During my Grand Traverse training tours, I've found that Honey Stinger chews provide the instant boost you need to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Stash them in the waistbelt pocket of your pack, and they are scarfable without even breaking stride. Two or three every twenty minutes with a larger food break every hour seems to keep me going. Organic and 100-percent natural, these chews taste pretty good and are still palatable even after three or four hours of high-output exercise. Plus, even after two or three bags, they don't wreck your gut too badly the next day. (That's right no goo poo.) I'll probably mix in a few other energy snacks and some real food during the race, but a couple packs of Honey Stinger chews will always be close at hand for an instant boost.
