The Salomon FreeskiTV crew’s latest edit, “The Burn” offers spectators a smoking plot where snow meets fire. Skiers Chris Rubens and Mike Henitiuk explore the winter landscape that was once the dwelling of a massive forest fire. The superb cinematography illustrates the turning of the seasons as the summer fire expires and the Earth invites wetter weather. Falling ashes turn to snow and the stripped forest invites new life, to ski. Plush pillows of powder offer themselves to the lines of these riders and what was destruction becomes restoration. Not to mention, these guys can rip.
Forest fires make great skiing.
