Winter Mountain Games Vail

FIS Freestyle World Cup- Jan. 30-Feb. 2- Park City, Utah
At Deer Valley Resort, Moguls, Duel Moguls, and Aerials competitions will take athletes one-step closer to the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. Meanwhile, skiers and snowboarders will compete in halfpipe over at Park City mountain Resort. Free live music featuring the Cold War Kids and Holy Water Buffalo.

Jose Cuervo Peak to Valley Race- Feb. 3-4- Whislter Blackcomb, BC
Perhaps the world’s longest GS race, the Peak to Valley race consists of 180 gates and a 4,734-foot vertical drop. Co-ed teams of four will start below the Saddle in Glacier Bowl and finish at the famous Dusty’s Bar and BBQ for a cold one.

Winter Park COSMIC Sprint Race/ “Elite” SIA race- Feb. 4- Winter Park, CO
This free uphill-downhill race raises funds for the US Ski Mountaineering Association in conjunction with the SIA tradeshow. Racers start at the base of Winter Park, ascend to the Sunsport Lodge, ski down to sister-mountain Mary Jane, turn around and do it again. There’s also an amateur division that only requires one ascent and descent.

FIS Alpine Ski World Championships- Feb. 4-17- Schladming, Austria
The 47th FIS Alpine Ski World Championships will host 650 athletes from 70 nations to compete for 33 medals over a 14-day period. Disciplines include Downhill, Super G, Giant Slalom, Slalom, and Super Combined.
