Park City, UT, Dec. 14, 2003 — Adding to its 60,000 acres of some of Utah's most spectacular backcountry terrain, Park City Powder Cats & Heli-Ski has opened up over 300 acres of terrain that was previously only accessible by helicopter. The new terrain is crowned with two peaks with elevations exceeding 10,600' and offers steep chutes, open bowls, and extensive lower elevation tree skiing.
Owners John Tighe and Ray Santa Maria are very excited about this new terrain. "We've been scouting the new terrain for some time now and were able to cut roads in over the past summer that will allow our cats to deliver our guests to this great new spot" says Tighe. "This new area will consist of runs that average 1,200' vertical with a few runs exceeding 2,000' vertical and a special end of the day home run that will rack up nearly 3,600' vertical in one run!" adds Ray.
Park City Powder Cats & Heli-Ski has exclusive rights to snowcat and helicopter ski on the Thousand Peaks Ranch located just outside Park City. Trips into the backcountry run daily from mid December through early April.
