OLYMPIC VALLEY, CA - (News Release) - Squaw Valley is teaming up with SnowBomb and Line Skis to put on the premiere slopestyle competition of the season. At the Sparks Sick & Twisted Slopestyle, skiers and riders will showcase their skills in Mainline's Ford Freestyle Terrain Park on Saturday, April 22, 2006.

Following one of the snowiest months in Squaw Valley history, the conditions in Mainline Park are ideal for sculpted jumps, smooth transitions, and butter landings. When asked about the set up for Saturday's competition, Squaw Valley's Terrain Park Manager Erik Roggeveen said, "The slopestyle course will consist of a series of medium and big jumps and rails, giving athletes the chance to show-off their individual style and amplitude."

With $5,000 in cash and prizes, this event will draw some of Tahoe's sickest amateur and professional park riders. If you think you have what it takes, come to Squaw on Saturday, April 22. Registration will take place in front of Dave's Deli from 8:30-10:30 am. There will be a 45 minute practice round starting at 11 am, followed by the competition start time at noon. The registration fee for Sparks Sick & Twisted Slopestyle is $25 with discounted lift tickets available for all competitors. Competing athletes who are under 18 must have a parent or guardian present at registration to sign a liability release form and helmets are mandatory for all competitors.

At 3:30 pm, following the competition, the award ceremony at Le Chamois will be rocking with a Sparks after party. Competitors and spectators alike will enjoy non-stop action at this slopestlye event. Sparks Sick & Twisted Slopestyle is part of the Spring Jam 8 festival at Squaw Valley USA.
