Holiday Storm Covers Squaw with 6 Feet of Snow

Squaw Valley, CA Jan. 3, 2005 - Mother Nature has given skiers and snowboarders a New Year's powder treat. In the midst of a series of powerful pacific storms, Squaw Valley USA has already received over 77 inches or nearly 6 ½ feet of new snow since Tuesday December 28. This series of storms brings the season snowfall totals to 206 inches or 17 feet of snow on the upper-mountain and 109 inches or 9 feet at the base.

"What a great way to celebrate the new year, explained Eric Brandt, Director of Marketing for Squaw Valley Ski Corp. "We're enjoying the best conditions imaginable and there's more fresh snow on the way.

The National Weather Service has issued a heavy snow warning through Sunday January 2, 2005 and is forecasting snow showers every day through Friday.
