Spring Forward at Keystone with Sunset Skiing
6. Keystone, CO

KEYSTONE, Colo – March. 6, 2008

– Grab your skis and snowboards, starting on Feb. 28 guests can ski into the sunset and continue into the night under the lights.  Thanks to daylight savings time, our lifts will turn from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week until March 30. Keystone will also offer expanded terrain during twilight skiing hours giving skiers and riders more trails to enjoy the Rocky Mountain sunsets on the slopes.

Keystone has received more than 200 inches of snow this year—more than 20 percent above the average according to the resort's official recording site on the mountain. With some of the best conditions on record, come and celebrate longer days and great spring skiing at Keystone with the following activities and events:

Sundown Showdown

Come on down to Keystone's Sundown Showdown in the A51 Terrain Park every Thursday night in March.  The Sundown Showdown showcases two different park features each week. The event is open to skiers and riders of all ages of intermediate and expert skill level.  Prizes will be awarded each week to the top three finishers in each category.  Categories are divided by gender. Additional prizes will be given for impressive tricks throughout the event.  Registration is $10 and starts at 4:30 p.m. in the A51 Terrain Park.

Adventure Point Tubing

You don't have to be a skier to enjoy this great family experience.  Join in the fun with Keystone's newly expanded tubing hill and brand new lift for the 2008 season.  You can tube seven days a week and until 8 p.m. until March 30.  Please call 970.496.4FUN for hours and pricing. Reservations are strongly recommended.

Scenic Snowcat Tours

Grab your friends and family and take a snowcat ride through the back mountains of Keystone Resort.  Enjoy breathtaking views of the Continental Divide, Ten Mile Range and the Gore Range and witness the spectacular sunsets at 12,000 feet. Tickets are available by calling 970.496.4FUN.

Saturday Night Fireworks in River Run

Saturday nights just got a little brighter with a fireworks display by the Keystone Neighbourhood Company running through March.  Fireworks launch at 8:30 p.m. in River Run Village and run every Saturday night though the end of March.

Easter Fun at River Run, March 22

The River Run Events Plaza celebrates Easter with music, crafts, and an Easter egg hunt for children 2 to12 years old. Kids ages 13 and up can join in the Easter Raffle with adult–sized prizes.  Bring your camera and take pictures with the Easter Bunny himself.  Grab your Easter baskets and come to Keystone's River Run for some Easter Fun!

Blues & BBQ Festival March 29

Here's a cure for your "end of the ski season blues": Mix in some sunshine with lip-smacking barbecue from Summit County's award-winning chefs and live blues music to celebrate spring skiing in the Rockies at the Blues & BBQ festival in River Run Village. Vote on the best BBQ in Keystone with the new barbecue showdown competition. Plus, the brews, tunes and BBQ benefit the local Snake River Community Association, a nonprofit that promotes a vibrant community in the Keystone area with cultural programs, community events and community facilities.
